Things I Love
Everybody knows that it gets cold in Utah and I really don't like having to put on shoes and socks unless absolutely necessary. Until it starts snowing - and it sticks to the ground - I often wear my flip flops or any other pair of slip on shoes I can find. However, my feet are really cold until about May when it decides to warm up again. (Or I move down South, whichever comes first.)
To make up for it, I found these sweet Crocs at the mall one day and after debating in my head for seriously like 2 weeks whether or not it was worth it, I just bought a pair. I've never been a fan of Crocs on myself b/c I thought they were kind of ugly...however, I am now a lover of the Croc. Especially this pair called: MAMMOTH. They are SOOO warm and my feet are always toasty. I feel like I'm walking on a cloud b/c they're just the greatest.
A little while later I found myself perusing Bath & Body Works b/c I ran out of lotion and I saw this robe that I also couldn't get out of my mind for awhile. When I bought my lotion they gave me a $10 off purchase of $30 or more coupon. When the dates for that coupon finally hit I decided I HAD to have this robe! I made the purchase and I think it's been a mighty fine choice. I wear it all the time - I hate layering up so I come home from school and take off my jacket and jeans and throw a pair of shorts on and this robe and I am set until I have to step outside. My roommates are pretty jealous!! (The robe is currently on sale right now for about $29 at Bath and Body. The selection in stores is getting limited so go to their website (click HERE) where you can find all sorts of colors and sizes)
I also LOVE this Online radio station. I listen to it a lot while I'm studying on very low (I have to study w/ some kind of noise or my mind just goes all over the place) or while at home making dinner. It's easier than trying to bring my iPod all over and it's totally free! Can't beat that! Just set up an account - took me like 1 min - and start listening. It's called Slacker Radio. Click HERE.

PICTURES
My sister helped me make a colorful background and it was all red and tan and cute ... and then I decided to make it all Christmasy ~ but I blew it! Sorry Coley!! Now it's white again and I don't remember how to make my name at the top look special and festive. Oh well, I'll try that part again later.
In the meantime, enjoy the pics!

It's too late
I'm told not to blog when I'm tired ... apparently I blog about things that are rather embarrassing to some people (dancing video.) Oh well. I still laugh at myself over that one.
Things are going pretty well up here in Utah. So far the weather has been cooperating quite nicely with my plans. (My plans include: NOT having to scrape my car off anytime I drive anywhere, and NOT having to bundle up everytime I step outside.) However, I need snow b/c it really helps the water at Lake Powell. So Let it snow! I would enjoy a little snow before I head south for the holidays.
Thanksgiving was so great! I went to Phoenix, again, and really enjoyed myself. I'm going to figure out how to do the slide show thingy so I can post pics and I'll set that up on another post. (I'm trying to get better at this, give me a break.) I flew into Phoenix on Wed morning and spent my weekend with the fam doing the "Thanksgiving" thing: eating, relaxing, watching football, and I even threw in a little late night shopping at 11pm with the Cannons. That was new for me, yet quite enjoyable. A little more crowded then I expected, but I plan on going with a plan next year (if I'm still invited...) and actually picking up a few things. I decided it would be a very wise idea to bring a suitcase with a little extra room to bring stuff back. We also went to the ASU/UCLA football game and it didn't take long to realize that ASU has pretty solid defense, but they could use some work on the offensive end. Saturday I went to the temple while my sweet little cousin, Swald, received her endowments for the first time. That was pretty exciting b/c there was about 17 or 18 family members I believe in the session and then we all went out to eat. Sunday we did the whole church thing then took that little ol' jet plane back to SLC.
Now I have about 2 more weeks before I head back down towards the desert states and spend Christmas and New Years with some of my favorite people.
Oh, newsflash: My sister Courtney is officially engaged now! hoo rah! The big party will be held on Feb 28. Buy her some gifts, but don't spend too much b/c you'll need some money for some other parties a couple months later . (I think that's the kind of stuff I'm not supposed to blog about ... oh well. I'll find out tomorrow!)
Love you all.
(Oh, so I google imaged myself and one of my pics from this blog is online!! Yep, I'm famous. I rock.)

That's it. I'm moving.
I really don't think people know what "change" is. I guess they will now that Obama won. I decided while watching the news that it was high time I leave America. Not permanently, but maybe until the next Republican wins the Presidential election. I'm hoping for a Mitt Romney win similar to Reagan's victory...now that's the kind of "change" I want to see.
Anyways, I'm moving to Costa Rica! I found this sweet house that's for sale down there.

Oh to Book thy Face,
To see all of my friends online .
To have the chance to see into space,
and know they really are all mine.
To be able to stalk those in my networks,
even while I am sitting in school.
The chance to find those my brother calls "turks,"
And all I have to do is use my little online tool.
The End.

Ok, I'm a really really bad poet. (and don't I know it!)
I realized today that even though I have friends all over this blessed country going to school, vacationing, dating people, etc, I can still follow their every move simply by logging in and looking at their page. Of course, they have to accept me as my friend to view their pages, but I love being able to follow them without having to make that phone call.
Thank you Facebook for making all of my stalking dreams come true.
You're the best.

TV Shows
My brother called me one day a couple weeks ago talking about this show he was watching on DVD and thought I'd enjoy. So, naturally, I told him to bring up the DVDs and I'd check them out. Season 1 was finished in a timely fashion and I am now starting season 2 of THE UNIT. It's on CBS on Sunday nights. Season 4 just started so I'm a little behind, but determined to catch up before next season (which gives me about a year, give or take.)
Luckily, I do not have to watch this show alone so I don't feel like a complete loser. Scott also told John about this blessed show and therefore, I watch it at John's...with his roommates. It's easy to get them to join us and for some reason I believe it's better with more people.
Thank you Scott. You're the best.

Turning over a new leaf
I decided today to quit stalking people on their blogs and to update mine more often. I know I've said that a lot - but I will do better. Plus, I won't feel like I have to write as much to update people so I can keep them "light and airy."
So anyways, I met Raja Bell on Saturday night at the Suns outdoor game. Too bad they lost, but the trip was well worth it. My mom was planning on flying out of Ontario, CA on Sunday morning and I was going to drive the kids back to Vegas. (My dad was in Portland at a wedding for his cousin) We arrive at the Ontario International Airport and they had a power failure and no one was flying out. (What International Airport has power failures!? Lame) It was so sad! My mom felt so bad b/c her little brother was being set apart as Bishop that morning at 11am and she really wanted to be there. I felt really bad for her but it was kind of nice being able to see my mama for a little bit longer.
1 more thing: I promise to take more pics so everyone can see what I'm up to lately. I know I've had a few requests. I'm working on it.

Fall!!
There are a few good things about fall that I thought I'd mention:
1. The leaves actually change colors and there is a "fall" in Utah. In Las Vegas the leaves just kind of fall off the trees and onto the grass and you realize that it's not 110 or 120 anymore, it's cooling down and the high is only in the upper 90s.
2. TV shows come back! No more reruns
3. SPORTS!!
Football season starts up! Both college and pro
Baseball playoffs approach -- the best part, b/c there are just way too many regular season games to be able to follow
BASKETBALL! The NBA season is fast approaching. Time to choose my fantasy players and prove to all the doubters that the Suns are bonafide!
4. Thanksgiving is coming. My favorite holiday b/c it's all about my favorite things: family, food, football, and having a good time.
5. Conference b/c my cousins and some friends usually come up and I love being able to attend sessions while living here. Even though I'm usually exhausted the following week from waking up super early to get there in time to get tickets from people it's so worth it.
The end.
I am going to attempt keeping a regular blog going and update it at least once a week...but no promises. Enjoy.

Ireland
Last summer I received a phone call from my mother asking me what I planned on doing around August of the following summer (2008, last month.) I was kind of taken aback because I usually do not plan that far ahead. I asked her what her plans were because obviously she had something up her sleeve and I really wanted in on it. That plan went down last month and I went to Ireland with my mom and two of my younger sisters, Courtney and Ashleigh. We had so much fun! Ireland is a beautiful country and the people there were so receptive and kind. However, I must complain: it is way too wet. I am a desert rat. I love the rain where I'm from b/c it is very rare and therefore, very enjoyable. While in Ireland it rained so much and when we did get sunshine I decided to take a picture of just the sun as proof that it does shine on that beautiful country.
I really enjoyed the trip and have realized lately that spending time with my family is what brings me joy. Looking back over the years I believe that I took advantage of the family nights and the time that I did have with my family. I used to get kind of annoyed that my parents wanted to do something as a family all the time b/c naturally, I just wanted to be with my friends. Now that I'm all grown up (and very mature...) I think my parents were very strong and I am so grateful for all the chances I did spend with them and the memories we created. I miss family night and eating dinner with them and watching games and all the little things that you don't realize you are so blessed to have until you don't get to see that everyday. I hope my family knows how much I love them!

Summer - Part Dos
I have been told that it is time to update by blog...again. I'm just not good at this. It was recommended that I write about the rest of my summer.
I had a really good time in Phoenix before I went to Nauvoo with my mama. I went to the ASU vs Fresno State baseball game and hung out with my grandparents, some cousins, and John. (he wants me to mention him in this post.) I watched the Lakers/Celtics game with my grandparents then with the Cannons where I was promised a free snow cone. (Thank you for that by the way) I flew back to Vegas Wednesday and then packed my bags and left for Nauvoo early the next morning with my Mom.
Nauvoo was so much fun. I loved being alone with my mom and all the little inside jokes we came up with. It was so much fun to see her parents serving their mission in the temple out there and to actually SEE Nauvoo and Carthage and visualize where the early Saints were a little better. We went to the temple Fri and my grandparents officiated over that session...what an experience that was.
I got back from Nauvoo on Saturday and went to my friend Katie and Hank's reception then packed my stuff up the next day and drove to Utah with my mom. I moved back to go back to school and she could not say goodbye to me yet so she had to drive up with me...or you could say she wanted to see her grandson. (But I know the real reason.)
I'm going to be honest now. I love Utah b/c it is a great place and a pretty state. However, I miss Las Vegas. I miss being super busy all the time and having to try to squeeze things into my day. I went back to Las Vegas for the Tim McGraw concert with Courtney, Juelaine, and John. I LOVED that concert. Tim is a good man in so many ways. Court and I were trying to decide whether or not he was wearing a cup but John thought he was "just lucky." (this is going to really embarrass some people--haha! oh well) After the concert I came back to Utah for a bit then last week I went to my little Heaven on Earth. aka Lake Powell. I love that place. The weather felt great (to me) and the water was perfect. My Dad and Scott bought a ton of fireworks again and we put on our annual 4th of July fireworks show (and yes, there was a fire--again. This was the worst fire we've started. And no, John did not start it.) John wants me to mention his FLY body and how much I enjoyed starting at him...(consider it mentioned.)
I'm back in Utah until next Wed when I leave for the Oregon coast for a family reunion which I am VERY excited for. After that I'm back in Utah until I return to Phoenix for 1 more weekend for another free snow cone. I will discuss the rest of my summer and vacations as they happen b/c they will get their own post. Love to all.

My Summer so far
First I want to say THANK YOU to those who have commented on my blog or emailed me b/c I LOVE to know who's on here and I really do look at everyone else's blogs, I'm just bad at updating mine.
I have less than 2 weeks left until I return to Utah. It will be a very bittersweet move. I have enjoyed being at home b/c I have spent lots of time with my family in LV and also in Phoenix. I'm not sure why I didn't take more trips to Phx while in High School! I seem to be doing it all the time now. I guess LV was a lot more appealing then b/c weekends were actually something to look forward to. In high school we would spend so much time planning the weekends and now they tend to creep up on me. I don't really have anything to blog about, so I decided to write about a couple things I did this summer.
I moved down the end of April and knew it would be a quick stay. My dad's receptionist had just quit so I filled in at the office until they found someone new. I am so grateful the timing worked out on that one b/c I really enjoyed working there again. I sure love everyone there. The environment inside the office is so relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone cares about everyone else and it's just so comfortable. I woke up every morning between 5:30 and 6am and that really killed me. For anyone that knows me, they know that I am NOT a morning person! However, I had to do it....and I did. By 8 or 9 pm that night though I was so exhausted.
I went to Phoenix a couple times this summer. The first time I stayed with my cousin Jennie and hung out with my cousins and friends down there. I went to the temple with 13 of my family members and that was such a great experience. I don't think they really know how much I enjoyed that. I have such a great relationship with a lot of my aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. I firmly believe that I have the best family a girl could ask for. (I received my endowments on April 30th as a surprise for my mom, and for me as well. It was great. Overwhelming, but so great. I don't really feel comfortable writing about that in such a public place, so I won't.) I also went to a Diamondbacks game and had a blast! I wish Las Vegas had professional sports teams. This city would really be something to brag about if we could win a championship.
On Memorial Day I turned 25...and as my brother says, "you're a quarter century old." Gosh, Scotty-i sure love you. I had another friend tell me it was time for me to face my quarter life crisis. Awesome. Not sure how I'll do that yet--any suggestions? I do want to go to Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, all over Europe...) Anyways, my Dad was dying to go camping that weekend but it was snowing where he wanted to go. Too bad. I actually got really excited to go camping the night before we went. I had to work hard to change my attitude b/c I REALLY did not want to do that on my bday. Weird, b/c I love to camp. We ended up going to Phx but brought the quads down and pulled over in the desert on the way down, and again on the way back to LV to ride. That was way fun. Riding quads in the desert after a snowstorm through cacti and cows and old trails was definitely a highlight of the summer. i hate to say it, but my dad does have some great ideas. (read Nicole's blog for more about the trip--esp the part when Scott rode into a barbed wire fence. Her URL is: trentandnicole.blogspot.com)
We all wanted to go to my cousin, Jaydie Lynn's, Block Party. It was a HUGE success! I didn't hear a final # but it was estimated they earned about $40,000 for her charity. (for more info about Jaydie Lynn visit her website: jaydielynnking.com -- she's our little guardian angel).
This coming week I am going back to Phoenix for a couple days then to Nauvoo with my Mama to visit her parents who are out there serving a mission. After that, it's off to Utah again!
After re-reading this blog I apologize for how long and probably boring it is, but I also want to say that I do have friends, but apparently I just enjoyed being around my family a lot more. haha.
(I am not going to say anything about the NBA b/c I have been rather disappointed lately. Now I'm waiting for my D'backs to pick themselves up!)
I love you all!
I'll post pics on another blog b/c I don't have any on the computer I'm on right now.

The Things I Love
Sometimes I feel like blogging gets boring and nobody really cares what others are writing, however, it's also nice to "share" your thoughts. I kind of think of this as a journal in a way. I'm going to write about some of the things I love.
1. My family - they are always there for me.
I love knowing that whatever I do or wherever I go, they are right there at my side. Loyalty and love is very strong w/in our little family.
2. Vacations - the memories we create on vacations are truly priceless. I don't think I have ever been on a bad vacation. It's all about who you're with.
3. Sports. My family (and some friends) are very involved in sports. We LOVE to watch and sometimes participate in sports. Some of us love basketball, some baseball, some football, some tennis, and some all of the above. We try to plan vacations to spots where our favorite team will be so we 'just happen to be in the same city' and can see a game.
4. Food! Anyone who knows me or my family knows that food is a very vital part of our existence. That may sound sad, but it's true. We try to eat healthy, we really do. However, sometimes there's just so many wonderful options it's hard to choose. I LOVE to cook and have learned a lot from my grandparents and parents. Cooking meals at home or on vacations has created a special bond for all of us.
5. GirlFriends. I have some great friends! They love to laugh at me, help me, allow me to lean on them, and create more memories, and for that, I thank you all.
(I had to add a couple friends pics to make sure to get most of them in)
6. Relationships. Yes, even I, Stephanie King, enjoy relationships. I watch and admire the relationships of those around me. My parents are HUGE examples to me as well as my grandparents. I hope to one day have a relationship as strong as those they have created. I love the respect, love, admiration, loyalty, and communication they all have with each other.

Tagged by Nicole
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog
10 years ago:
I was in middle school and hanging out with my friends and playing softball. I remember thinking I had a lot of choices to make for classes, who to hang out with, where to go, and trying to get out of piano lessons. I still have similar choices--they've just been escalated a little bit. (I wish I was musically talented all the time!)
5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Finish my homework!
2. Find a really good recipe for this coming week
3. Write in my journal
4. Count my many blessings...and be grateful for memories like the one created in the photo below. (I think I'm 3 in this photo with Nicole and Scott)
5. Go to the gym
5 Snacks I enjoy:……
1. I will always enjoy ice cream
2. Popcorn (i believe movies are ALWAYS better with popcorn)
3. Wheat Thins or Triscuits
4. Chips n Salsa
5. Hummus from Citris Grill
What would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
I was talking to Lindsey the other day and we decided that we would be really nice with our money if we were super rich. I told her that I would take my family on a fabulous trip around the world. And I would take my friends on a cruise. I would also try to purchase a sports team. I think that would be so grand! I would attend the NBA Finals, the Superbowl, World Series, etc...I would also donate a lot of money to my favorite charities.
5 Places I have lived…
1. Born in Provo, Ut (lived here for the first 3 months of my life)
2. Scottsdale, AZ
3. Las Vegas, NV
4. back to Provo
5. maybe the east coast one day...
Jobs that I have had...
In Las Vegas, I worked for my Dad at Pete King Corp for a couple years in high school and 1 summer out of high school. This past summer I had a great job at Crest Ridge and will always miss working there and the memories created. In Provo I worked at Pizza Factory, a financial office (KS Financial-made some great friends there too, and some not so great memories), and a rental office.
5 things people don't know about me:
1. I am not as tough as I appear to be
2. I have a very vivid imagination and picture whatever I am talking about or reading about in my head all the time.
3. I am scared of feeling vulnerable
4. I love to be outside and watch the sunrise or set, or the flowers move in the wind, or go for walks, or listen to the "outside noises"
5. I find reasons to love my family and friends more and more everyday and constantly worry about them.
I hope this is semi-interesting. I'm not going to tag anyone specific b/c I would like anyone who feels they need something to post about to answer the questions...ready...set...GO!

The Rundown
I have lived a good life. Promise. I have a great family, some pretty good friends, and lots of blessings. Maybe later I'll tell you about growing up and the things that have happened to bring me to where I'm at right now. However, I dont have time for that right now, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the post you do get to read.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to fly out to Washington, DC and visit a good friend and tour! It was great! I have always wanted to go back East and see the sites. It was a pretty quick trip and I wore myself out. I'm dying to go back again and spend a couple of weeks going behind the scenes and checking out all the stuff that I missed. The pictures are from Arlington, Mt. Vernon (with my friend Austin-and Martha and George Washington), and at the Holocaust Museum.
Last weekend I went to Phoenix for the Suns vs Spurs game (pic above was taken during half time-yes, Shawn Marion is my favorite player-therefore, I HAD to compare my hand size! Shawn wins...) and stayed until Sunday night. The basketball game was on Thursday and we saw a couple of celebrity figures at the game. Friday we spent hanging out with some family. On Saturday, Courtney and I volunteered at the FBR Open with Team Jaydie. Later that night I went to the Super Bowl Saturday Night outdoor concert at Tempe Town Lake Park. And of course, Sunday was the SUPER BOWL!! All hail the NY Giants! I'm so proud of Eli!
The following pictures are from the concert: Counting Crows with the NY Giants helmet in the background (The Pats helmet was on the other side, but I didn't want that one...) and the other picture is from the fireworks behind the stage. It was pretty great! AND I WAS OUTSIDE!! I haven't been able to stand outside for an extended amount of time without freezing in MONTHS! The weather in Phoenix was amazing.
And now I am back in Utah. January flew by and I'm hoping February will do the same...and March...and April. Next we have May and warm weather! I'm a desert rat at heart. Well, I hope you enjoyed hearing a brief rundown of my life in 2008. I'll do my best to keep this updated!

In Memory of the Matrix
Moment of Silence
This is the start of a new era. An era without Shawn Marion 'defying gravity' and leaving spectators and fans all across the globe in awe of his offensive, and defensive, skills. I realize he was traded along with Marcus Banks, but let's be honest, Banks was part of the deal only because of his contract. He was being paid more than upper management felt he was worth and therefore, he had to go. Goodbye Marcus. It was fun while it lasted. You had a good game or two in the 1.5 seasons you spent with the Suns. Hopefully, you can continue to improve your skills elsewhere and be the all star caliber player we would like to see. Now, back to Shawn. I understand where Steve Kerr was going with this. I know he wanted to make our team stronger, and bigger. Mission accomplished. IF, and only IF, Shaq can stay healthy and allow the system to run (and gun) the way we like. Shaq was once a very dominant player and could scare the other teams. Hopefully, we can get a few games out of him worth watching. I really don't want to watch the games with a feeling of hopeless loss because Shawn is no longer with us. He has been on the team for I think 8 years now. You can't replace a player like Shawn. He is an all around defensive and offensive juggernaut. Shaq is facing a career low season all across the stat sheet. Jalen Rose comforted me for a little bit when he said on ESPN that Coach D'Antoni's system and practices are a lot better on the body compared to Pat Riley. He believes that Shaq can recover from injuries, and stay away from other injuries, in the D'Antoni system versus the Riley system. Gosh, I hope he's right! I have also heard the interview where Nash and Stoudemire, and a few of the other teammates say they are pleased with the trade and feel that Shaq could be an added asset to the team--are you kidding me?! That's all for the PR, right? I do appreciate Amare saying that he and Shawn are good friends and always will be. That was sweet. I guess that's all I can really say about this right now. There will be more. But for now...a moment of silence, please!

This is a test. This is only a test. I'm wondering if anyone will notice that I have a new post. :)
I do remember that I have a blog...I'm just not very good at this whole thing. I'll work on it though. As soon as Cort comes back to the Valley of Happy from the blessed desert then I can learn a few things from her. Until than ~ ciao!
